Prince George (born George of Wessex on 22 July 2013) is a member of the British royal family, the grandson of Edward, Earl of Wessex and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex, and the great-grandson of Queen Elizabeth II.
Born at St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London, George grew up mainly at Bagshot Park, the Wessex family home in Surrey. He has a younger sister, Louisa, with whom he shares a close relationship.
George's father, Prince Edward, is the youngest of Queen Elizabeth II's four children, and his mother, Countess Sophie, is former PR consultant. The couple received an Earldom from the Queen upon marriage in 1999, and Edward now serves as Duke of Edinburgh after his father, Prince Philip.
Prince George attended Eton College for his secondary education and then went on to study history and literature at University of Oxford. While a member of the royal family, George was never officially styled as His Royal Highness nor did he assume a dynastic title as many of his cousins did.
